In Logan City (USA) a recent council decision to replace the on-street parking strips with park-strips (small strips of park and greenery to improve aesthetics) has resulted in… a lawsuit.
Residents of the area argue that the City initiated the park-strip project too quickly, and feel that the actions are outside their authority, invoking the right of citizens to park on city streets without paying the proposed $200 yearly fee.
City representatives argue that they simply chose to enforce their ownership of the park-strips, and that the city as a result looks significantly more beautiful, and therefore is likely to have a positive effect on the community as a whole.
